Brady Boyd
James Hubert Blake High School
Brady is planning to attend University of Florida in the fall, majoring in applied physiology and kinesiology on the pre-med track. She states that being coached by an amazing woman like Coach Blu really allowed her to become more confident as a player and person throughout every season. She will miss playing this fall but is excited for the future!

Kamali Jangha
James Hubert Blake High School
Kamali committed to Spelman College! She played volleyball for three years, two of which she was coached by Coach Blu. She believes that her skill level and confidence skyrocketed under her coaching, and she grew as a person and a player. Kamali is the school’s SGA Secretary, alongside her involvement in their countywide SGA and other student activist groups. She plans to study political science and public policy at Spelman, in hopes of making a difference in equitable practices across the country. She is so grateful for this scholarship and Coach Blu’s mentorship!
Oluwayemi "Yemi" Oladotun
James Hubert Blake High School
Yemi will be attending the University of Maryland as an accounting major. She will be graduating high school with her Associate's in Business! She played volleyball for eight years. She states that Coach Blu was the most thoughtful volleyball coach she's had and that it was a privilege to have someone who cares so much about the athlete's improvement in volleyball and overall well-being. She is looking forward to continuing her education at UMD.
Aleksandra "Sasha" Potapova
James Hubert Blake High School
Sasha will be attending the University of Maryland, College Park in the fall. She plans to major in microbiology as a part of the Integrated Life Sciences Honors College to hopefully become a research scientist. She has been playing volleyball for 6 years total, 5 years in an out-of-school club and 4 years on Blake High School's Varsity volleyball team. Coach Blu coached her all 4 years on the varsity volleyball team, and she states she "honestly couldn't have asked for a better coach." Her favorite part about Coach Blu is how she evaluates not only on skill, but also potential, improvement, and interactions with other teammates. She really appreciates how Coach Blu saw each athlete as students before players, always being incredibly understanding when academic commitments had to interfere with practice or games.
Kalia Sar
James Hubert Blake High School
Kalia will be attending the University of Texas at Austin in the fall where she will be studying advertising and marketing. She also hopes to continue her volleyball career at UT. She states that her time with Coach Blu and her high school team has been the absolute best. and that Coach Blu has been the most incredible and inspiring person. She goes on to state that it’s been such a privilege to know her and grow as a person under her guidance.
Madison Stevens
James Hubert Blake High School
Madison, who has been playing volleyball for almost 8 years now has committed to Bowie State Uni, to continue both her academic and athletic career as a bulldog. She plans to pursue Criminal Justice ( Forensic Focus) as her major. She is thankful to Coach Blu for laying the foundation of her skill set and building her confidence as an athlete and a woman that she will carry with her to BSU both on and off the court. She is finishing her High school career with a 3.5, a proud member of the Minority scholars program and an MCPS all county player.
